Summer 2020: GLS Update on Athletic Facilities and Skills Training Workouts

Bulldog Fans!

On May 22nd, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, along with an amended order from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) announced that K-12 schools may begin to open school athletic facilities following state guidance, and implementation of proper procedures and protocols.  The Green Local School District with guidance from the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Services, NFHS, OHSAA, and the Summit County Health Department have created a plan for the reopening of athletic facilities at Green Local Schools.

Using these recommendations and guidelines, Green Local Schools has implemented a 3 Phase process for reopening athletic facilities. Each phase will last approximately 14 days and will be based on any new data regarding a downward/upward trajectory in Covid-19 cases. Re-opening of our facilities is subject to change as we move into the Summer months.

Phase 2 Reopening (June 15th-June 29th, 2020)

Only athletes/coaches participating in the conditioning/skill work will be permitted in the facility during their assigned times (fans, parents, community members etc. are not permitted in the athletic facility during workouts).
