Tonight, the Green Bulldogs defeated the Perry Panthers in double overtime by a score of 63-61. The game was one of the most exciting games in Green High history and the Bulldogs came out on top. With roughly three and a half minutes left in the game, Green was down by a score of 38-32. However, the scrappy Bulldogs cut Perry's lead to 38-34 with 3;23 left in the game. At the 1:54 mark, Kaleb Martin made a basket to tie the game at 40-40. Neither team could score with time running out and the game went into the first overtime. In the first overtime, both teams scored 8 points and now the game went into the second overtime. It looked like Green was going to pull away with 2:46 left with 52-49 lead but Perry would not give up and Julian Jackson would hit a three. At 1:06 left Green led 56-54 and then at 1:04 the Bulldogs took a 57-54 lead. Green was 7 for 10 at the free throw line in the second overtime while Perry was 5 for 7. With 7.7 seconds left, the Bulldog lead was 61-59 and Perry's Jackson was at the free throw line. Jackson made both free throws and tied the game at 61 all. But, the gritty Bulldogs in-bounded the ball and went the full length of the court. Martin bounce-passed the ball inside to Donovan O'Neil underneath and he laid it in for the win.
