Tonight, the scrappy Green Bulldogs squeezed the life out of the 23-3 Mentor Cardinals beating them by a score of 77-60 in the first game of the Division I Regional Semi-Finals at Cleveland State University. Mentor's Luke Chicone hit a three at the buzzer to end the first half to give Mentor a 33-31 lead. But that didn't last long as the Bulldogs defense led by Ryan Smith, Shea Simmer, Alex Casper and Trey Martin shut down the Cardinals offense in the second half limiting them to 27 points. In the meantime, the Bulldog offense began to roll as Kaleb Martin scored 22 points being 11 for 12 from the free throw line, Garrison Keeslar had 4 threes for his 21 points, and pounding inside was Donovan O'Neil also with 21. Mentor's leading scorers were Alex Edwards with 14 points which included 4 threes, Luke Chicone with 13, and Mason Trubisky with 10. The Bulldogs will play the winner of the Euclid-St. Edwards game on Saturday at 2:00 at the Wolstein Center at the Cleveland State University in the Division I Regional Final Game.
