Today the Varsity Boys Tennis Team participated in a 4 team (quad) tournament; The bulldogs tied for 2nd with an overall 7 – 3 record; Highland was the winner, Wadsworth tied with Green & Wooster came in 4th. The individual results were as follows:
#1 Singles: L. Langovsky def. Wooster’s B. Haven 6-0, 6-0 and Highland’s Erba 6-1, 6-2;
#2 Singles R. Garza lost to Highland’s Gillin 6-4, 6-1 and def. Wooster’s F. Sim 6-1, 6-3;
#3 Singles D. Westmeyer def. Wadsworth’s Greenlees 6-0, 6-0 and Highland’s Alcini 6-1, 6-1;
#1 Doubles team of P. Ragunanthan & A. Castner lost to Wadsworth 4-6,3-6 and then def. Wooster 6-2, 6-4
#2 Doubles team of D. DeLuca & E. Garee lost to Highland 6-7 (TB 5-7) & 5-7, & then def. Wooster 6-4, 6-3.
Overall it was a good start for the Boys Tennis team. The tournament started with the temperature at 32 degrees and it was a cold day for everyone. Thanks to the parents who came out to watch.
