The Green high school varsity wrestling team competed in the prestigious 2019 Solon Comet Classic this past weekend. The Bulldogs showed their toughness battling some of the toughest teams in northeast Ohio. Green only represented 8 out of the 14 weight classes, but was able to work as a team and finished 15th out of 32 teams. Senior Dylan Davis lead the team winning the tournament and securing two pins. Another standout wrestler was senior Jakob Johnson at HWT in only his second year of wrestling managed to place 5th with 5 pins. Sophomore Blake Schaffer rose to the top of a very tough 152lb division placing 6th. The Bulldogs will be at home this Thursday dueling the Hoover Vikings and then traveling to Cincinnati to compete in the Edgewood Invite this weekend.
