Green Lady Bulldogs opened their season tonight playing John Hay in the Great Lakes Classic at Cleveland Heights highschool. All eyes were on senior forward, Alyssa Ziehler, who was currently tied for the school record in career steals at 112 going into the game. To no surprise, Ziehler stole the ball early in the first quarter to break the record and ended up finishing the game with 4 steals. The record was previously held by Lydia Corle (2009-2012). 

After a slow first start for both teams, the Bulldogs had a breakout 2nd quarter scoring 24 points. Green turned John Hay over 17 times to go into halftime with a score of 35-22. Green's defense continued to wreck havoc in the second half turning them over 28 times in the game. Green's offense was led by Alyssa Ziehler with 14 points. Junior, Mallory Oddo, had a game high and career high 13 rebounds, 11 of which were offensive as well as 5 steals. Freshman guard, Sydney Shocklee was the second highest scorer with 10 points. Senior point guard, Bri Hunt, and freshmen forward, Jenna Slates, both added 9 points respectfully. The final score was 55-40. Ziehler was also crowned the game's MVP for the Great Lakes Classic.

Lady Bulldogs will take on Tallmadge on Wednesday at home @ 7pm.
