JV Orange fought Hoover tooth and nail on a hot Thursday night. After a half the score level thanks to the activity of junior striker Thomas Zehner, who opened his account for the season by simply outworking the Hoover defense after a long ball over the top. The midfield pivot of Will Resch and Brock Bohley was tireless in keeping the attackers in constant supply and breaking up Hoover attacks.
Unfortunately, injuries took a toll in the second half. Green held on as best they could, but fatigue eventually took it's toll and Hoover broke through twice. Still, the Bulldogs had no quit in them and very nearly generated the chances to claw back level. A draw wasn't on the cards, but it was a significant step in the right direction.
