It was a slightly strange atmosphere as Green took on Kent Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon. The widespread power outages in NE Ohio meant that Kent's stadium was without power, meaning the game had to be moved to mid-afternoon. Kent's seniors had a senior day without the benefit of the PA system or big scoreboard display.

Once the game started, it was Kent's senior striker who became the focal point of the game. Rather than play through the midfield, the Rough Riders played a series of long balls into their number nine's feet and let him work. His pace and power caused problems for Green's backline and it wasn't long until the Bulldogs were down one.

It wouldn't stay that way, though. Jared Genovese jumped on a mistake from Kent's backline and spanked in a tidy finish that put hearts in throats before hitting the far post and bouncing in. A couple minutes later Owen Smythe picked up an errant pass and drove forward into the Kent defensive third. His slide rule pass to Gavin Shawbell took Green's seconds goal scorer slightly wide, but his shot was an impressive drive back across goal that couldn't be stopped.

Injury woes were a problem again for Green, who lost Seb Leasure and Caleb Boyle to injuries that ruled them out of most of the second half. The Bulldogs fell behind in the second half after Kent was awarded a penalty, but came back to draw level when Baki Elghrainy started a move that ended with Ray Maynard powering a finish past the keeper at his near post. The end result wasn't quite there again, but the resilience of this Green team is starting to show through.
